Happy Belated, Eric!

So today I was tinkering around with some of HOWL's mythology, and I was putting dates to Eric's and Adam's birthdays for reasons which will eventually be quite important.

Anyway, turns out Eric's birthday is the 30th of January, which would make him (as of 2011) 20 in our world and 19 the first time he appears in HOWL. (Remember, HOWL takes place slightly before Regan drops into town in Dead Boyfriend.) This ended up being very interesting to me because apparently he's not as old as I thought he was. In my head he was a generic "two years older" than Regan, but when I hammered it out it's actually closer to a year and some months. Fun stuff, huh?

(It also means he was totally using a fake ID in the bar. Hunters, what can ya do?)

Text-wise, there's probably a few small continuity gaffes now in the scene when Adam tells Eric they're snowed in, as I was mentally picturing it closer to spring than it ended up being. Most authors would probably be embarrassed by admitting this, but I find it kind of funny. Admittedly, though, I have a weird sense of humor.

Adam's birthday, to round out the post, is the 17th of October. When we first meet him he's twenty-five.
